New Site

Decided to buy a domain with my name and make a simple portfolio site to have as a stand alone to this blog so it's easier to get directly to my reel and info.

Bedtime Layout

Started working on some new stuff after work.  I've had an audio clip I wanted to work on during AM, but never got the chance to.  I really wanted to do a scene where I would get to animate a little kid, and this one provides a good contrast to the father character.  More soon.

Cintiq

Recently picked up a Cintiq!  Such a huge difference being able to draw directly on the screen, and a lot easier to control line work.  Here's a few quick paintings/sketches I did testing it out.

Homeland

Been watching Homeland lately.  Season 1 was really good, but they kind of started to lose it towards the end of Season 2.  Did some sketching with the Paper app on iPad while watching.  Sgt. Brody and Carrie!  Need to do one of Saul next time.

Travel

Been missing for a while from this blog, but I'm starting to get back into it and posting updates on new work and sketches.  Here's some sketches done over Thanksgiving during my trip to Argentina to visit family, should hold you over until I can post some new animation work!

All done on a really cool sketching app for iPad called Paper.

IIFF Bumpers

Got the chance to work on this bumper animation for the Indianapolis International Film Festival with a few coworkers in our spare time at work.

I worked on the animation, some character modeling, and even rigging!  Also on the team were James Ratliff, Stephany Cardinali, and Sean McDonald.  We used kind of a weird workflow and went from Maya to Cinema 4D, but it all worked out in the end!

There were a total of 5 bumpers, all created by Indiana artists.  These will play before the screenings at the Indy Film Fest later this month.  The other four bumpers can be seen here.
